Yogurt and Fruit Parfait Recipe | International Recipes



Parfait is a French style layered dessert. We have to use different fruits and creams for creating different layers. In this recipe, I used fruits and yogurt for creating the layers. Parfait is always very attractive and kids gonna love it. Parfait is the nice way to make kids have even fruits they don’t like. Just put them in a intermediate layer.

Preparation Time: 10 mins  |  Serves: 2

Ingredients:
Thick Curd / Yogurt
½ cup
Honey
1 tbsp
Sugar
1 tbsp
Chopped Fruits (mango, banana, papaya, etc.,)
¼ cup
Chopped Badam
1 tsp

Procedure:
1. Add curd, honey and sugar in a bowl. Mix them well and refrigerate for 2-3 hours.
2. Remove the skin of the fruits and chop them into small pieces.
3. Take a long glass jar, first add 2 tbsp curd and then add 2 tbsp fruits.
4. Again add curd and fruits.
5. Again add curd and fruits.
6. Finally sprinkle chopped badam and serves it immediately.

Note:
1. Fruits are your choice.
2. Add 2 tbsp of honey instead of sugar and vice versa.

Foxtail Millet Flour Fruit Custard / Thinai Fruit Custard

During summer time, we  all prepare fruit custards. We buy the custard powder and use it. Why not use thinai instead of custard powder? This idea was suggested by my mother. I tried it and it came out really well.
Thinai Custard is a very good way to make kids take millets disguisedly.

Preparation Time: 5 mins  | Cooking Time: 7 mins | Yields: 1 cup

Ingredients:
Boiled Milk
1 ¼ cup
Foxtail Millet / Thinai Flour
1 tbsp
Sugar
3 tbsp
Vanilla Essence
¼ tsp
Chopped Mixed Fruits (apple, banana, chikku, fig, tutti frutti)
1 cup

Procedure:
1. Take the foxtail millet flour in a small bowl, add ¼ cup of milk and mix them well without lumps.
2. Boil the remaining milk, add sugar and mix them well. Keep the flame at simmer.
3. After sugar has dissolved, add the mixture (from 1) and cook till the mixture becomes little bit thick. At this time, you can stir continuously without lumps.
4. Switch off the flame, add vanilla essence. Then allow the custard mixture into cool down completely.  

5. Refrigerate this mixture for atleast half an hour or till you can serve.
6. Take chopped fruits in a serving bowl, then add the chilled custard on the top of the fruits. Serve it immediately and enjoy
Note:
1. I have used mixed fruits but you can use any single fruit also.

2. Adjust the sugar level according to your taste.

Fruits Popsicle | Easy Popsicle Recipes

     Fruit Popsicle is first a visual treat.
     Many like strawberry and kiwi juices but does not like raw. Fruit Popsicle is a good way for making them enjoy raw fruits also. The ice formed from lemon juice is a different taste which normally people would not have had.

Preparation Time: 5 mins  | Freezing Time: 7 hours| Yields: 5 Popsicle

Ingredients:
Strawberry
2
Kiwi
1/2
Fig
1
Grapes (black or greed or both)
10
Lemon Juice
1 tbsp
Sugar
3 tbsp
Salt
A pinch
Water
2 cups

Procedure:
1. Wash and cut the strawberries into thin and lengthwise slices. Cut them vertically.
2. Remove the skin of the fig and cut it into thin slices.
3. Peel the skin of the kiwi and cut it into thin round slices.
4. Wash the grapes and cut them into little bit thick round slices. Click here for how to clean grapes.
5. Mix the lemon juice, sugar and salt with water. Mix them well till the sugar dissolves completely.
6. Now arrange the fruits randomly in the popsicles moulds; then pour the lemon juice till the ¾ of the mould.
7. Close the lids of the mould and freeze it for an hour.  Now take the mould outside from the fridge and insert the popsicle sticks; then again close the lid of the mould and freeze them for 6-7 hours or till they set.
8. After 7 hours take the mould outside and pour water at the back side of the mould or keep the mould under running water for just few seconds.
9. Now gently remove the popsicles from the mould and enjoy.
Note:
1. You can use any type of fruits except banana.
2. Adjust the sugar level for lemon juice according to your taste.
3. Close the lid of the popsicle-mould with popsicle-mould cap or foil paper.
4. You can use freezer safe cups also for making Popsicle.

Fruit Stick

    I came up with the idea fruit sticks to create a different type of fruit salad. Especially to impress kids. You can also use fruit sticks to decorate juices and other dishes.



Ingredients:
Water Melon
As required
Green Grapes
2 per stick
Black Grapes
2 per stick
Mint leaves
As required
Skewers
As required

Procedure:
1. Wash the grapes and mint leaves, keep it aside.
2. Cut the watermelon into ½ inch thickness slices.
3. Remove the seeds from the slices.
4. Cut the slices into shapes of your choice with cookie cutter.
5.  Now arrange the fruits and mint leaves as per your choice on the skewers.

     Beautiful fruit sticks are ready to serve.
