Instant Ragi Paper Roast Recipe / Ragi Dosai



This is instant ragi dosai with ragi flour and rice flour. This is very healthy and gluten free millet based breakfast.

Preparation Time: 5 mins  | Cooking Time: 5 mins | Yields: 8- 10 dosai

Ingredients:
Ragi Flour
1 cup
Rice Flour
½ cup
Finely Chopped Onion
¼ cup
Finely chopped Coriander Leaves
2 tbsp
Finely Chopped Green Chilli
1
Cumin Seeds
1 tsp
Salt
1 tsp
Water
2 ½ - 3 cups
Oil
As required

 Procedure:
1. In a wide bowl, add ragi flour, rice flour and salt. Mix them well.
2. Add cumin seeds and mix them again.
3. Add water little by little and make water  like consistency batter.
4. Close the lid of the bowl. Leave it for 10 mins.
5. Before making dosai, add onion, coriander leaves and green chillies. Mix them well. Ragi Dosa batter is ready.
6. Heat the dosa tawa, pour ladle full of batter and starting from the outer side of the tawa.
7. Pour oil around the dosai and cook till the both sides become golden in color and crisp.

   Healthy and yummy instant ragi paper roast is ready to serve. Serve with Kara Chutney.
Note:
1. Addition of onion is your choice.
2. Add curry leaves also.

Ugandan Rolex / Chapathi Egg Roll Recipe




Ugandan Rolex is a famous street food. This is nothing but Chappathi egg roll; The goodness of Ugandan Rolex is that just one Rolex is good enough for one person’s breakfast. It can be also a good children lunchbox recipe and traveling time snack. It is also a healthy and balanced diet food, because it contains vegetables, eggs and wheat.

Preparation Time: 10 mins  | Cooking Time: 10 mins | Yields: 1 Rolex

Ingredients:
Finely chopped onion
2 tbsp
Finely chopped Cabbage
2 tbsp
Finely Chopped Capsicum
2 tbsp
Finely Chopped Tomato
1 tbsp
Grated Carrot
2 tbsp
Finely Chopped Coriander Leaves
1 tbsp
Finely Chopped Green Chillies
1 tbsp or required
Pepper Powder
1 tsp
Salt
1 tsp or required
Egg
2
For Chapathi:

Wheat Flour
¼ cup
Water
As required
Salt
¼ tsp
Oil
For making rolex


Procedure:
Making dough:
1. In a bowl, add wheat flour, salt and oil. Mix them well.
2. Then add water little by little and knead it into a soft dough. Keep it aside for 10 mins.
3. Then take big size ball from the dough and roll into thin chapathi with 9 inch diameter or required. Keep it aside.
Making Egg Roll:
4. In a wide bowl, add chopped onion, cabbage, tomato, capsicum, coriander leaves, green chillies, grated carrot, pepper powder and salt.
5. Add 2 tbsp water and mix them well.
6. Add eggs and neat them well for 2 mins. Keep it aside.
Making Rolex:
7. Heat the tawa and transfer the chapathi into tawa. Cook both sides for just 30 seconds in each side. Take it out from the tawa and keep it aside.
8. Now pour the egg mixture ( from 6) and spread them into circle with 8 inch diameter.
9. Pour oil around the egg omelet. Keep the flame in medium.
10. After a min, place the chapathi over the omelet (uncooked side) and press them gently with the ladle. (see the video for making rolex)
11. Then turn over the omelet carefully and cook till the both sides black spots starts.

   Yummy, tasty and easy egg chapathi roll / Ugandan Rolex is ready to serve.
Serve with tomato ketchup.

Note:
1. Veggies are your choice.
2. Add red chilli powder instead of green chillies.

Red Aval (poha) Laddu Recipe | Gokulashtami Recipes



The aval recipe is a mush have recipe for Gokulashtami. I have already posted white aval laddu recipe. But this recipe is a more healthier yet tasteful aval recipe. Why not try this for this Gokulashtami?

Ingredients:
Thick Red Aval
½ cup (1 cup =  240 ml)
Sugar
¼ cup
Ghee
2 tbsp
Chopped Mixed Nuts
1 tbsp
Cardamom Pods
2

Procedure:
1. Dry rost the poha till nice aroma comes out from it or till the poha becomes crisp.
2. Allow it to cool down completely and grind them into a fine powder using the dry mixie jar. Keep it aside.
3. Powder the sugar and cardamom together into a fine powder using the same mixie jar.
4. Now mix the both the powders in a wide bowl using the spatula or wire whisk.
5. Heat the ghee in a pan, fry the nuts till they become golden color.
6. Now pour the hot ghee over the poha and sugar mixture (from 4).
7. Immediately mix them quickly with spatula. At one stage the mixture looks like a bread crumbs.
8. Immediately make gooseberry size balls from the mixture. You have to make the balls when the mixture is little bit hot, otherwise the balls will break down.
 Healthy and yummy red aval / Red Poha / Red Riceflakes Laddu is ready to serve.

Note:
1. Powder the aval first before powdering the sugar.
2. Do not pour more ghee than the ratio suggested. Otherwise the balls will not be dry and in perfect shape.
3. Nuts are optional or otherwise your choice.
