Pannai Keerai Masiyal

Normally we use greens/keerai varieties as side dish only. Masiyal is a category in which you can use keerai based ingredients just like sambar or kuzhambu. You can mix masiyal varieties directly with rice and have it.
The lively greenish tone of keerai masiyals tempt people to try it. It’s a nice way to make  people have more keerai.

 Ingredients:
Keerai
1 bunch
Cumin Seeds
1 tesp
Green Chilly
2
Small Onion
10
Coconut Oil
1 tesp
Salt
As required

Procedure:
1. Clean and separate the leaves from the stem. Then wash and allow water to drain.
2. Heat 1/2 cup of water in a pan. When the water starts to boil, add green chillies (no need to cut) and green leaves.
3. Mix them well and cook for 3-5 mins or till the leaves becomes tender.
4. Allow it to cool down and blend with hand blender or electric blender.
5. Now add the cumin seeds, chopped onion, coconut oil and salt.
6. Mix them well and serve with steamed rice.
Note:

You can make this masiyal with mulai keerai or siru keerai also.
