Red Rice Flakes / Red Aval / Poha Upma

    I am trying the tried and tested rice flakes upma recipe with red rice flakes. As you know red rice flakes is very healthy so you can also try it as my trial as come out well.



Ingredients:
Red Rice Flakes / Aval / Poha
1 cup
Onion
1
Grated Coconut
2 tbsp
Salt
To taste
To Temper

Oil
1 tesp
Mustard Seeds
½ tesp
Urad Dal
½ tesp
Split Gram / Channa dal
1 tesp
Curry Leaves
1 spring
Dry red chilli
1 or 2

Procedure:
1. Wash and soak the rice flakes for 3-4 mins. Then drain the water completely using the strainer. Keep it aside for 7-10 mins.
2. Now the rice flakes should be so soft and apart from each other. This is correct stage to cook.
3. Heat the oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, urad dal and wait for popping. Then add channa dal , red chilli and curry leaves.
4. Now add the chopped onion and fry till it becomes translucent.
5. Next add the soaked rice flakes and salt. Mix them gently and cook for few mins.
6. Finally add the grated coconut and switch off the flame. Mix them well and serve.

   Healthy and easy dish is ready within 15 mins.
