Masala Biscuit / Kara Biscuit


Most biscuit recipes are sweet. Why not have some semi spicy masala biscuit? Masala kara biscuit is exactly that. This biscuits is a must when you want a assorted set of biscuits of multiple taste.

Preparation Time: 15 mins  | Cooking Time: 10 mins | Yields: 25 cookies

Ingredients:
What Flour
1 cup (1 cup = 240 ml)
Butter
½ cup
2 tbsp
Baking Powder
½ tsp
Salt
½ tsp
Finely Chopped Coriander Leaves
1 tbsp
Curry Leaves
 1 spring
Ginger
1 inch
Green Chilli
1

Procedure:
1. Grind the ginger and green chilli into a coarse paste using the dry mixie jar.
2. Then add the coriander leaves and curry leaves. Grind them into a paste without adding water. Keep it aside.
3. Sieve the wheat flour and baking powder together for 2-3 times.
4. Add the butter in a wide bowl. Beat the butter until it becomes soft using the electric beater or balloon whisk.
5. Now the icing sugar and salt with the butter and again beat them until it becomes soft.
6. Now add the sieved flour (from 3) and ground paste (from 2). Mix them well and knead it into a soft dough.
7. Cover the dough using the cling wrap and keep it in the refrigerator for 10 mins.
8. After 10 mins remove the dough from the refrigerator. Now roll the dough into a ½ inch thickness chapathi using the rolling pin. You can sprinkle wheat flour over the rolling surface to avoid the stickiness.
9. Then cut it into a 1 ½ inch squares using the cookie cutter or knife. Now put holes on the cookies using the fork.
10. Arrange the cookies on the ungreased cookie tray. Leave ½ inch space between the cookies.
11. Preheat the oven for 10 mins at 200 degree Celsius.
12. Then bake the cookies for 10 mins at 160 degree Celsius. Allow it to cool down completely and then store it in a airtight container for later use.
     Crunchy and tasty Masala biscuit / Kara biscuit is ready!

Note:
1. Adjust the chilli level according to your taste.
