Snowball Cookies

Snowball cookie is the one of the easy to make cookies. The powdered sugar layer attracts the children very much and also gives good taste as it melts in the mouth. The cookies came out well even though I have prepared without adding baking powder or baking soda.

Ingredients:
Homemade Cake Flour (click here for the recipe)
1 cup
Dalda / vanaspathi
½ cup
Powdered Sugar
½ + ½ cup
Vannil Essence
1 tsp
Salt
¼ tsp

Procedure:
1. Preheat the oven for 200o C for 10 mins.
2. Cream the dalda with your palm till it gets soft and fluffy.
3. Add vannila essence, powdered sugar (1/2 cup) and salt to the creamed fat and mix them well.
4. Add the flour and knead to a soft pliable dough.
5. Make a gooseberry size balls from the dough.
6. Then arrange them on a baking tray and bake it for 11 mins at 1800 Celsius. No need to grease the baking tray.
7. Allow it to cool down for a min and take them out from the tray and put them in a wide bowl.
8. Now (when the cookies are still warm), sprinkle the powdered sugar(remaining ½ cup) on them and mix them gently till the sugar coated all sides of the cookies. Then allow them to cool down completely and serve.
Aromatic and mouth melting snowball cookies are ready.

Note:
1. I used dalda, but you can use butter also.
2. Creaming the dalda is very important.
3. No need to add milk or water to knead the dough.
