Arusuvai Chain Mystery Ingredient and Thepla

First of all, for all those who are not in the know, Bharathy, Srivalli and Lathamma started this Arusuvai Chain. Now the second season is organised by Sayantani of A Homemaker's Diary.

It is my turn in the arusuvai chain. Five weeks back, Archana  mentioned that a parcel has been sent to me. I was eagerly waiting for the parcel to arrive. Unfortunately When  the parcel from Archana arrived at my home in Chennai , I had come to my mother's place in Palani.  Atlast my mystery ingredient of the Arusuvai Chain came to my hands only two days back.  Archana had sent me a hand written note along with a lovely gift (a beautiful mobile phone pouch) and a tasty snack. Along with these, there was a box with the mystery ingredient - Kasturi Methi.

I thank Archana for this wonderful gift and including me in the Arusuvai Chain. The Recipe I am making with this Kasturi Methi is Thepla. I have taken this recipe from Mahi's kitchen.

 Thepla

Ingredients:
Wheat Flour
1 cup
Gram / Besan Flour
1 tbs
Ginger Garlic Paste
1 tes
Kasuri Methi
1 tbs
Curd
¼ cup
Chilly Powder
½ tes
Coriander Powder
½ tes
Turmeric Powder
¼ tes
Jaggery
1 tes
Oil
1 tbs
Salt
To taste

Procedure:
1. Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl.
2. Knead them into a soft dough by adding water little by little and keep it aside for 15-30 mins.
3. Then divide the dough into lemon size balls. Roll out each balls into  thin circles [Theplas].
4. Heat the tawa and cook the theplas on both sides with 1 tes of oil till brown spots appear on it.
Thepla is ready to serve. Serve with Coconut chutney.
