Paruppu
payasam is a easy to make dessert especially for festival occasion. This is not
only sweet but also healthy. For Tamils, this Adi season during which this
recipe is traditionally prepared and served.

Ingredients:
Split green gram /

Boiled Milk

1 cup

Cardamom Powder

Procedure:
1.
Dry roast the moong dal till a nice aroma comes out and allow it to cool down.

Heat the ghee in a pan and roast the cashew nuts and dry grapes till they
become golden brown. Then add the grated coconut and fry for min. Transfer them
into plate and allow them to cool down.
3.
Wash and pressure cook the dal with 1 cup of water for 3 whistles or cook in
a heavy bottom pan with lid also.
4.
In the meantime, dissolve the jaggery in ½ cup of hot water and strain it using
the steel filter.
5. Now mix the jaggery syrup with cooked dal.
Mix them well and bring to boil. Then reduce the flame and cook until it becomes
thick.

Then add the fried cashews and coconut mixture with cardamom powder. Cook for a
min and switch off the flame.
7. Now add the boiled cold milk (should not add
hot milk, this may be curdle) and mix it well.
Yummy and delicious moong dla payadam/
kheer is ready to serve.
