Hibiscus Milk / Sembaruthi Paal




Ingredients:
Red Hibiscus Flower
5
Milk
1 Cup
Sugar
2 tes
Water
¼ cup

Procedure:
1. Separate the petals from the Hibiscus. [ Remove the stem and pollen]
2. Boil the water and put the petals. Switch off the stove and close the lid of the pan. Keep it aside for 10-15 mins.
3. Strain the water and mix with hot or cold milk.
4. Add sugar and mix well. Serve it chill or hot. Enjoy!!!

I never knew, we can drink the juice of Hibiscus. As a child, I used to play by plucking them and making juice out of it... :D The juice has a pretty pink colour and nice presentation.. :-)

I remember my mom used to make this out of our hibiscus garden(lol) and my sis & I will run around the house, still my mom won...we had to drink. Its very good for girls. thanks for bringing back my good memories.

can we eat sembaruthi poo? is it good for health. in childhood days, my mom used to dry it nicely and mix with seekai to put in hair. but never tried of eating. really a unique drink...

I used to boil the petals in water and add jaggery and drink the juice...Its very rich in iron. Adding it to milk is a good option.
