Ingredients:
Plantain/Vallakai/Raw Banana | 1 |
Oil | 2 tbs |
Mustard Seeds | 1 tbs |
Urad Dal | 1 tbs |
Curry Leaves | 1 spring |
Red Chilly | 2 |
Onion | 1 |
Turmeric | ¼ tbs |
Salt | To taste |
Grated Coconut (optional) | 2 tbs |
Procedure:
1. Steam cook the plantain with its skin intact in medium flame for 10 mins.
2. Allow it cool down and then remove the skin of the raw banana.
4. Cut it into small cubes.
5. Heat the oil in the pan, add mustard seeds wait for pops.
6. Then add urad dal, curry leaves, red chilly (split into halves) and chopped onion.
7. Saute until the onion turns transparent.
8. Then add turmeric and salt, and sauté for a minute.
9. Add the banana cubes and sprinkle water and sauté for 3 minutes.
10. Now add the grated coconut and fry for a minute.
11. Garnish with coriander leaves.
Serve hot with rice.
