Rice Flakes / Aval Upma


Ingredients:

Rice Flakes / Thick Aval

1 cup

Oil

1 tbs

Mustard Seeds

½ tbs

Urad Dal

½ tbs

Bengal Gram Dal

1 tbs

Curry Leaves

1 spring

Red Chilly / Green Chilly

Onion

1

Grated Coconut

½ cup

Salt

To taste

Coriander Leaves

For Garnish

Procedure:

1. Wash the aval thoroughly and soak it in water for 5 mins.

2. Then drain the water completely and spread it on a plate to avoid the aval coagulate.

3. Heat the oil a pan, and add mustard seeds. When the seeds starts popping add urad dal, Bengal gram dal, curry leaves and chillies(cut into 2 halves). Fry for a minute.

4. And then add the chopped onion and fry till the onion becomes golden colour.

5. Now add the grated coconut and fry for 2 mins.

6. Add salt and aval, mix them well and heat it in a medium flame for 5 – 7 mins.

Serve it to loved ones.
