
Ingredients:
Wheat Rava | 1 cup |
Water | 2½ cup |
Vegetable oil | 1 tbs |
Mustard Seeds | ¼ tbs |
Urad dal | ¼ tbs |
Green Chilly | 4 |
Curry Leaves | 1 spring |
Channa dal | 1 tbs |
Ginger | ½ inch |
Onion / Sambar onion | 1/10 |
Vegetables(carrot,beans,potato) | 1cup(optional) |
Salt | To taste |
Coriander Leaves | |
Procedure:
1. Dry roast the rava in a pan for 5 -7 mins. Transfer it to a bowl.
2. Cut the vegetable into small pieces,slice the green chillies into two and chop the onions.
3. Use the same pan or cooker, heat the oil, add mustard seeds.when it starts to splutter, add urad dal, channa dal, curry leaves, green chillies, ginger and onion, fry until the onion turns brown.
4. Add the finely chopped vegetables and fry for 2 min.
5. Now add the roasted rava and fry for 2 min.
6. Then add water and salt, Steam cook the upma for 5-8 mins if using the cooker, or cover the pan with a lid and cook for the same amount of time.
7. Garnish with coriander leaves.
Serve hot with pickle or coconut chutney.
